Infield scales
Load Cell • Rated to 0.5Kg - 50 Kg • Safe overload 150Kg Battery • 6V DC 12Ah Charger Input • 10-24V DC @ 4 Amps • Charger pin-out Pin 1 positive Pin 3 Negative • The unit must charge for a minimum of 8 hours, preferably 10 or more IP Rating • IP 65 DO NOT PLACE THE SCREEN IN DIRECT SUNLIGHT A. INITIAL START UP 1. Plug the Charger into wall socket then connect the Charger to the charger socket on the bottom side of the Weigh-Track unit. 2. Once connected hold down the “ON SWITCH” button on the side of the Display Screen for 3 - 5 seconds. 3. Wait for the device to start. This can take 40 – 60 seconds. 4. If at this point the Display Screen shows a battery picture then the battery is flat and the unit needs charging. Refer to Trouble Shooting procedure below, for a Flat Battery. 5. After the device has started open the Weigh-Track APP. 6. Click on “STATUS” screen, THEN press the Black “POWER SWITCH” Button on the underside of the unit, for 5-15 seconds. A Green ON LED Light will flash on and off at the bottom of the unit, which indicates that the unit is now active. 7. Ensure that the unit is mounted level. 8. If a new Zero needs to be set, then whilst in the STATUS screen ensure the Green ON LED light is flashing then tap the middle of the White part of the screen 10 Times until such time as you see the APP display “factory zero set”. Thereafter click the Red X at the bottom left of the screen then click on PAYROLL to start your operation. 9. NB PLEASE NOTE THAT YOU DO NOT NEED TO DO A FACTORY ZERO RESET EVERY DAY AS THE SCALE DOES A TARE READING BEFORE EACH WEIGHING OPERATION. B. CHARGING THE WEIGH-TRACK 1. Its is important that the unit is charged every day for a minimum of 8-10 hours. 2. For correct charging the FOLLOWING PROCEDURE MUST BE FOLLOWED a. The Display Screen MUST BE ON and the Green ON LED Light on the underside of the Unit MUST BE FLASHING. Refer to above initial start up instructions if nether of the above 2 are on. b. With the Green ON LED Light flashing you can charge the unit via the AC power pack or via 12-24VDC, 3A fused input as per the specification above. c. If the Weigh Track is connected to an external source for charging (eg a Charge Battery) DO NOT plug in the AC adaptor at the same time this will result in damaging the unit. C. WEIGHING MENU Setting Up The Scale and Codes 1. Click on “Weighing” 2. Now hold your Operator Card flat on the top left corner of the Display Screen black box until the Display Screen asks for the Enterprise and Location at which point you can remove your card. 3. The scale will now take a tare reading which is the new zero so if any weight was placed on the scale before presenting the card, the zero will now be in the negative and the tare reading will be displayed on the weighing screen. 4. Next select the Enterprise code by clicking on the down arrow adjacent to Enterprise and scroll down to the correct code. 5. Next select the Location code by clicking on the down arrow adjacent to Location and scroll down to the correct code. 6. Click on “Start Weighing” 7. At this point the Display Screen will show “Present Weigher Card” and the tare reading which is the offset for the zero reading will be displayed below this. The weight on the scale is displayed in large red letters. Weighing 1. Put the item to be weighed on the scale, then present User Card flat at the top left corner of the Display Screen black box when the reading is stable. 2. The Display Screen will show the User Name and turn GREEN. 3. The weight can now be removed form the scale. 4. The next weight can only be weighed if the Display Screen is WHITE. 5. If the Display Screen is RED at any time this may mean that the scale has an inconsistent weight on it and cannot establish a stable reading. Or the scale has become disconnected from the display in which case the Green ON LED Light referred to above will stop flashing. Simply hold down the “POWER SWITCH” for 10-20 seconds till the light flashes again. 6. To stop the weighing process, simply place the Operator Card against the top left corner of the Display Screen black box. 7. Click “Yes” to exit or “No” to continue weighing D. FLAT BATTERY OR BLANK SCREEN If the battery is flat the Display Screen will be blank and the Green ON LED Light will be off. If this is the case then the following procedure will need to be followed: 1. Plug the charger into the wall socket then connect it to the charger socket on the Weigh-track unit a. Once connected hold down the Black “POWER SWITCH” Button on bottom of the unit DO NOT LET THE BLACK POWER BUTTON GO UNTIL COMPLETING ALL STEPS BELOW 2. When the Black Power Button is pressed the Display Screen will show a picture of a battery with a lightning bolt through it. 3. Continue holding the Black Power Button. 4. The screen will then go blank again. 5. Continue holding the Black Power Button and wait 2 minutes until you proceed to the next step. 6. Whilst keeping the Black Power Button in, insert the pin into the hole on the side of the Display Screen where you see the “ON SWITCH” Label. Press down on the pin for 3 – 5 seconds and then release the pin NOT the Black Power Button. 7. Continue holding the Black Power Button down and wait for the Display Screen to start. The Display Screen can take 40 – 60 seconds to start up. 8. After the Display Screen has started, continue holding the Black Power Button whilst opening the Weigh-Track APP on the Display Screen. 9. Continue holding the Black Power Button and Click on “STATUS” on the Display Screen. Once you have done this, a Green ON LED Light (“ON LED”) will flash on and off at the bottom side of the box near the Black Power Button. This will indicate that the Weigh-Track unit is now active. Do not let go the Black Power Button just yet. 10. If you see the Green ON LED Light flashing for 5 – 10 seconds, you can release the Black Power button. If however the Green ON LED Light stops flashing you will need to push the Black Power Button again and hold it in for another 5 minuets whilst the Green ON LED Light is flashing. After 5 minutes you can let the Black Power Button go. 11. Once you release the Black Power Button the Green ON LED Light will continue to flash on its own. 12. You will need to leave the unit charging in this state (Display Screen on and Green ON LED Light flashing) for a minimum of 8-10 hours before you can operate the unit. E. BATTERY REPLACEMENT Once every 6 - 12 months, depending upon usage, the internal 6v 12AH battery must be changed. To change the battery the following procedure needs to be carried out: 1. Using the Pin, Press the ON SWITCH on the side of the Display Screen for 3 seconds and select the Power Down option. 2. Remove the Weighing Hook from the load cell. 3. Using a 13mm Spanner, remove the 4 x M8 nuts, washers and spring washers holding the Weigh Track inside the Orange Enclosure. 4. Remove the Weigh Track out the Orange Enclosure. 5. Using an Alan key and 7mm spanner remove the 8 x M4 cap screws around the edge of the housing as well as the spring washers, washers and nuts. There are two screws on each side, top and bottom. 6. Lift the cover plate that has the Display Screen attached to it over to the left and stand it on its side. 7. Remove the terminals from the battery noting which is positive (Red Wire) and negative (Black Wire). 8. Open the Velcro strap and remove the battery. 9. Replace the battery with an identical 6V 12AH battery only. 10. Ensure that the new battery is correctly positioned - the positive terminal needs to face the top of the box. 11. Secure the battery and cable going to the Display Screen with the Velcro. 12. Make sure that no screws or lose wires are touching the electronics. 13. Connect the positive and negative battery leads onto the terminals with some battery grease. 14. Place the Display Screen cover plate back over the battery and electronics ensuring that no cables are caught between the cover plate and the base plate. 15. Press the Black Power Button at the bottom side of the Weigh-Track unit and make sure the Display Screen shows a picture of a charging battery. If it does not show a picture of the charging battery, then contact ABCO Electronics (+27-82-776-4815). 16. Fit the 8 x M4 cap screws around the edge of the housing, followed by the flat washers then the spring washers and lastly the lock nuts. 17. If any of the screws need to be replaced they must be replaced with a Stainless Steel equivalent. 18. Ensure the nuts are tight. 19. Press the Black Power Button at the bottom side of the Weigh-Track unit and make sure the Display Screen shows a picture of a charging battery. If it does not show a picture of the charging battery, then contact ABCO Electronics (+27-82-776-4815). 20. Place the unit back in the enclosure, in the same manner that it came out, with the spring washers under the base plate or on-top depending upon which model you have. (If you have a red charging light on your unit the 4 x M8spring washers go on top. If your unit only has the Green On LED Light then the 4 x M8 spring washers go under the base plate of the Weigh Track. ) 21. Fit the 4 x M8 washers and nuts. 22. Make sure they are tightly secured. 23. Secure the Weighing Hook back onto the Load Cell, with some lock tight. Ensure that the top of the hook does not protrude past the topside of the screw hole into which it is being secured. 24. Now follow the Initial Start Up procedure above.
